Begin a program to regulate "Service Dog Trainers." We need to prevent fraud and set standards to protect the disabled.

Service dogs can be a great benefit when properly trained to help the disabled. When a Service Dog is needed for Epilepsy, Autism, Blindness, Deafness many people take to fundraising and go through a private trainer. A Non-Profit organization is usually ADI accredited which creates a standard of training that must be met. There is now no regulation in place to protect the disabled public from trainers selling inadequate Service Dogs, nor is there a basic standard of quality in place for the trained dogs. When a person receives an inadequately trained dog, there is no recourse nor regulation that can be used to rectify the situation. We ask that regulations be put in place to prevent fraud and guidelines be followed by such businesses under penalty of law.
