begin a serious discussion on gun control. We cannot stop this violence without dialog about ways to end these killings.

After today's shooting in Connecticut, it is time to talk about guns, their role in a civilized society, and our lax attitudes towards violence and an armed populace. We can no longer afford to ignore the reality that seems to be splashed in red across our television screens every month; that gun ownership has been prioritized over the safety of our communities, families, and now our children. Guns do kill people. Guns in the hands of those who should never have them. We need to discuss ways to control and minimize their use and distribution. Mr. Obama, we can no longer afford politics, we need and demand action!
