During the Great Depression, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt eased the minds of millions every week with his historic fireside chats. It would be difficult to find a more modern resemblance to FDR than Bernie Sanders, which makes him a great replacement for the legendary President. With the excess of political unrest in this country today, bringing back the fireside chat would be nostalgic, as well as unifying. Many people from both major parties have great respect for Senator Sanders, even if they disagree with his political views. This display of bipartisanship would be a great first step in unifying our nation.
