Better Access for the Disabled at School

Created by C.W. on January 04, 2017

My high school aged son is required to use a bathroom where the door doesn't shut all the way leaving him no privacy. The bathroom stall is a handicap stall but isn't big enough in width or length for his wheelchair. Also, my son is unable to open any doors at his school. None of the doors have automatic openers leaving him having to wait outside until someone is available to open the door to let him in. Sometimes in the morning when he gets off the bus at school there is someone to help but there are times where he is sitting outside waiting for someone to come that will open the door for him leaving him outside in the weather. This is a fairly new school. All schools need to be accessible 100% and equipped for the needs of the present and future children.
