better enforce existing gun control laws.

Created by B.W. on January 15, 2013

If we were to make better use of the NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System), we could work towards preventing some of the tragedies that have occurred without having to do much in the way of new legislation. The trouble seems to be the level to which states participate in this program. A possible solution is this; if a state does not comply with sending the appropriate information to be entered into the NICS, then gun sales are not permitted in that state (until they do). The only addition I would add would be about gun shows. One possible solution would be to require a booth at gun shows. Anyone wanting to buy a gun at a show must first get a pass from this booth, which has a system with access to the NICS.
