In order to regain/retain our standing on the world stage, and to avoid future foreign policy blunders, the United States should legally bind all foreign policy actions to the UN's decision-making process, so that both the General Assembly and the Security Council will have to approve any decisions resulting in US troops, money and other resources having to participate in any military action on foreign soil, before such troops, money and other resources are deployed to such places.
This would be binding in such a way, so as to prevent unilateral foreign policy decisions being made by the sitting president. Because of this, the US would be held harmless for actions taken on foreign soil, as these actions would never be taken unilaterally, but through a process involving the larger UN Body.
