We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Black History is American History! We need Our History to matter in our schools!

Created by Z.A. on July 14, 2016

We are petitioning to bring awareness to the fact that Black History is ignored in our schools and it is a disservice to our children and our ancestors of African descent. We are asking that you right this wrong by including required African American History in our curriculum. African-American children are craving to know who represented them in the past and a craving to know where they belong. The curriculum in our classrooms strategically exclude the tragic history of African American Slavery and African American people as a whole who have died for the many rights we have today. Slaves built the wealth in America, roads, bridges, farms, buildings, cities, and towns. Black History Matters most in the classroom. To know thyself is the key to true success. Our History Matters!
