The legislation authorizes the seizure and destruction of safe prescription drug imports valued under $2500, PROTECTING THE INTERESTS OF BIG PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES and NOT citizens who rely on importation to access THE EXACT SAME medicines at affordable prices. Section 708 of the FDA Safety and Innovation Act (S. 3187) will destroy access to affordable medicine for over a million people each year! Seniors and the underinsured can't afford the exorbitant price of U.S. prescription drugs. More than 100,000 people in CA, 100,000 people in FL and 50,000 people in NY alone will be affected.
