The proposed Pebble Mine, could end up as the largest open-pit mine in North America and would be located in Alaska would threaten thousands of acres of pristine watershed and the spawning grounds of the largest wild sockeye salmon run on the planet. All for the mining of gold, copper and other minerals that can be obtained elsewhere.
The mine will destroy thousands of acres of wetlands, as well as irreplaceable salmon habitat, fallout from mining would also destroy the region's fishing industry. We want the Environmental Protection Agency to block the mine under the Clean Water Act.
