Currently, the federal government taxes estates worth $5 million dollars and up at 35 percent. This is know as the "Death Tax." If someone dies, their family must pay 35% tax to keep their own business and/or estate.
President Obama has proposed a 45 percent rate on estates of $3.5 million and up for January 1.
Increasing the "Death Tax" as President Obama proposed, will negatively effect our farmers and smaller businesses who are family run and cannot afford to pay $45 percent tax to keep their own family business.
Tell President Obama that we do not want to raise anymore taxes on job creators and family businesses!
