This petition is a plea to President Obama to block the purchase of Smithfield (and any other companies that originate in the United States) by Chinese or any other communist, human-rights violating, intellectual property stealing countries who continue to place the US with a distinctly unequal trade disadvantage.
The idea is simple. Keep our companies in American hands.
Influence CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States) to block the takeover/merger. Hold those in this Committee (CFIUS) accountable, i including insight into monetary donations, campaign contributions or lucrative partnerships for or by the Chinese; exclusively Lobbyist groups in support of or for Chinese/unpatriotic interests.
