The Doggie Dash is an annual event held in Portland, Oregon to raise funds for homeless pets at the Oregon Humane Society. OHS finds homes for 11,000 homeless, abandoned, and neglected pets each year. The Doggie Dash is OHS' biggest fundraiser of the year. OHS invites our nation's Top Dog to be the Grand Marshal of the West Coast's top doggie event!
We invite Bo because the First Dog will help generate awareness and interest in the Doggie Dash and the mission of OHS. The main feature of the Doggie Dash is a fun run/walk through downtown Portland, so Bo would also be supporting the health and fitness of the youths, adults and canines who walk or jog together.
Bo's presence at the Dash would also mean the world to local dogs like Ramona, a Goldendoodle who's leading this effort.
