Bolster our Military and End Poverty

Our nation suffers from a growing epidemic: Poverty. At the same time, we are being threatened from the outside as well by dictators who know we hesitate to use nuclear weapons.
By employing the poor in the armed forces, we would provide a job for them as well as bolster our military. People over 35 or possessing families would have the option of requesting an auxiliary position, away from harm's way whenever possible. This would also give an image of power back to the United States.
With this move, we could help end the internal threat of poverty and the external threat of our rivals.
