As of 2011, the US Federal Government spends $142.2 Billion a year on Research and Development. Chinese R&D spending is expected to eclipse American spending by 2022. This petition aims to guarantee American prosperity for years to come by doubling Research and Development Spending to at least $285 Billion Dollars by 2020.
