Boycott the 2014 Olympics in Russia.

Created by J.C. on July 12, 2013

The United States should boycott the 2014 Olympics in Russia. The US Supreme Court recently ruled that it is a violation of the US constitution to treat persons living in same-sex marriages as less respected than others. Following that ruling, Russia's Putin signed a law that fines citizens for suggesting that gay and heterosexual relations are "socially equivalent." More importantly, foreigners who suggest that gay and heterosexual relations are "socially equivalent" will not only be fined but will be arrested. This is simply not acceptable. It not only disparages our gay and lesbian athletes, but potentially exposes them and US citizens visiting the Olympics to fines and imprisonment.
