Boycott the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia

Created by B.D. on July 22, 2013

In 1936, during the Holocaust, Germany hosted the Summer Olympic Games in Berlin. Despite the growing persecution against Jews and other minorities, the United States failed to boycott those games.

We are today presented with a shockingly similar situation in Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has been driving a rapid trend of persecution towards LGBT persons in his country. Among a series of laws passed in recent months, Putin has signed into law legislation banning adoption by loving LGBT couples, outlawing pro-LGBT speech of any form, and arresting tourists for even the mere suspicion that they might be gay.

Protect our athletes and protest the human rights abuses by boycotting the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.
