In many areas communications are moving towards IP based services. In the 1990s there were many options for Internet based service if a customer were unhappy with the practices and the service they received. In areas where we had twelve options for Internet service over fifteen years ago, we now have one or two. Bell Systems at one time dominated the Telecom industry, had poor service, almost no competition and could charge what they wanted. Today we have the same with Verizon, AT&T, Comcast and Cox. There are three major players for service in most areas with two being feasible in preformance. Europe and Asia have better service and in more rural areas then what current companies offer. Break up the Verizon, Comcast, etc. monopolies so options, innovation and new jobs can be created.
