Break up the oligopoly of internet providers and demand fair competition

Internet services providers such as Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, and Time Warner own the internet providing business in the US. The US falls behind other countries in terms of internet plan prices versus download/upload speeds. This year, plans offering 100,200, to 300 mbps in France can be achieved for $30 a month according to the New America Foundation. Whereas in the US, a 150 Mbps plan offered by Verizon prices at $150 a month. The lack of competition between the companies discourages offering faster plans at more affordable rates like other countries. With internet becoming a necessity in school and work, these companies must give up their greedy need for high profit on low service and offer more affordable plans for the US.
