Antitrust laws in America are a collection of laws designed to ensure healthy business competition for the benefit of the consumer. One key provision of these laws is the prevention of monopolies like the one created by Comcast Cable through the purchase of other internet companies. Because they are the only provider in many locations, they are able to arbitrarily set and raise prices. Their customer service is not designed to actually assist the consumer, and complaints of poor service and unfair practices go unresolved. In an information age, where they hold the corner on high speed internet delivery, Comcast is no different than the old "Ma Bell" which was broken up by FTC. Therefore, it is petitioned that the Federal Government review and break up this monopoly.
