A reduction in politicians' (the President, Representatives, Senators, and other legislators) salary to the national average wage in order to bring out more family- and middle class- oriented candidates to the list of upcoming politicians. This would weed out some of the more ambitious and less satisfactory legislators and replace them with people of the common class who would work to see change rather than to build money and live in luxury. The national wage average for 2012, according to ssa.gov was $44,321.67, annually; the legislative salary would be arranged to be slightly higher or lower.
