Another atheist in Saudi Arabia - name as yet unknown - has been sentenced to a harsh punishment for expressing his lack of religious belief on Twitter. In this case, the punishment involves 2,000 lashes, ten years in prison, and a hefty fine on Twitter. This follows mere months after Ashraf Fayadh, a poet (!) was sentenced to death (thankfully reduced to lashes and prison time). These are but two examples of Saudi Arabia's appalling human rights record - and more evidence that their leadership position on the UN Human Rights Council is patently absurd.
The United States government *must* fight to save these men, and all like them, from such egregious violations of their human rights. All diplomatic pressure must be brought to bear, and asylum must be offered to victims of this regime!
