bring attention to the exploitation of Native Americans on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation regarding NE alcohol sales.

The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation is an Oglala Sioux/Lakota tribe, with a population of around 40,000 people, that live in South Dakota. The reservation is within walking distance to Whiteclay, Nebraska. Although Whiteclay has a population of 10 people, it has four off-sale beer stores, all of which are licensed by the State of Nebraska, that sell the equivalent of 4.5 million, 12-ounce beer cans annually (12,500 cans per day) mostly to residents of the reservation. The Nebraska government makes money from the taxes of the liquor stores and doesn't want to close the stores because of the profit. It is ultimately up to the tribal president to solve the serious problem plaguing his people and his reservation. But we can help to pressure our state senators to take action.
