Bring back the American Dream by following the recommendations in THE PRICE OF INEQUALITY by Nobel winner J. Stiglitz.

Created by R.W. on January 30, 2013

Over the past 30 yrs, the financial security of America's bottom 99% has declined while the top 1% has amassed fortunes and rewritten laws to favor their interests at everyone else's expense.

Financial inequality in the US is greater than in many other democracies, and rising up the ladder is harder than ever.

In "The Price of Inequality", Nobel-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz makes several suggestions for reforming America's political system and economy.

Including:

- raising capital gains tax so work income stops being taxed at a higher rate;
- taxing speculative financial transactions;
-an amendment to strictly limit corporate campaign contributions;
-mortgage principal writedowns and consumer-oriented bankruptcy laws;
-end corporate handouts
