For over 100 years, Aggies and Longhorns have gathered to honor a tradition of playing a world renowned rivalry football game on Thanksgiving Day. Songs, stories, family legacies and more than 100 years of Texas heritage have been manifested from this historic gridiron battle. We need to ensure that conference realignment doesn't end this time honored tradition. This game is a part, not only of the state identity, but of the national fabric of Thanksgiving weekend. Families, Aggie, Longhorn and otherwise, nation-wide have gathered on Thanksgiving day, or the Friday following, for years to watch this storied rivalry. Step in, as other states have, and mandate the playing of this great game.
