We need arts in our education system because the arts, as opposed to popular belief, have a significant effect on success rates of students. These students need a bright future, especially those in high poverty districts where there is a much higher probability of dropped arts programs. These kids need these programs to have a better educational experience and find success in their future. Many of the children in high poverty districts never really get a fighting chance to make it out of there by way of education and opportunities that open up through that education.
