Bring back the Build America Bonds program.

Congress should restore the Build America Bonds program. The Build America Bonds program was an incredibly successful bond program that cut out the middleman in infrastructure investments. While we were building our highways that made our infrastructure what it is today, we were spending around 6% of our GDP on infrastructure. Europe's average is around 3 1/2 to 4%. Today, we're only spending about 2 to 3%. The construction sector has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. At a time of record low interest rates, we will save money if we spend on our crumbling infrastructure today. We need to start investing in projects that will bring America back to prosperity.
