To often government contractors are overlooked for positions they are qualified for or they are doing now. Some of the unethical hiring practices keep qualified individuals from opportunities to better themselves or gain employment within the federal government. A federal government contract should have similar rights as a federal employee because more often then not their roles and responsibilities are similar or the same. Contractors should not feel like advancement opportunities are not available to them within the agency they work for. There needs to be a reward for being an intricate part of an agency's mission.
