Recent education reforms force teachers to teach-to-the-test to avoid sanctions thus changing the school's purpose from educating children to building a business portfolio. Many teachers have shared how they want to adjust their lesson plan to reach their students but their career is the personal price they would pay to go against the grain. Teachers are not the problem with our schools; it's a education system trying to operate like a for-profit business. We need to empower teachers with a PreK-3 curriculum that includes the five reading domans so these students can learn to read and arithmetic so they learn to add, subtrct, multiply & divide whole number & fractions. Both resultin in more students prepared to now Read-to-Learn and Math.
