We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Bring back the five star general officer ranks.

Created by J.M. on May 23, 2016

When Omar Bradley became the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff he was eventually promoted to General of the Army. As it stands now the chairman is the highest ranking officer in the military. In the 1990s there was discussion of bestowing the five star grade to the chairman's office. I believe in time of peace this rank should be tied to the chairman's office with the incumbent officer being promoted as they take their post.
