In 1933 President Hoover, his doctor, members of his cabinet and others would play a game now named Hoover-ball on the White House lawn. This game is still played in Iowa and is gaining traction in gyms around America, using a modified tennis court field.
President Eisenhower and others, including first lady Michelle Obama have led movements towards fitness for our youth and citizenry.
We acknowledge that it is not possibly to play in the original spot on the White House lawn, but the Ellipse behind the White House would be a very close approximation.
We ask that we be allowed to erect a tennis court system grounded enough to allow for the game (played with heavy medicine balls) on the Ellipse.
