We ask for the reinstatement of the Office of Technology Assessment which operated from 1972 to 1995. This department will provide arbitrary views/findings to congressional members and committees with objective and authoritative analysis of the complex scientific and technical issues, independent from special interest groups, and lobbyists. This will allow for a more streamlined and productive process and policy formulation for long-term projects, and direction for our nation.
