In the last few years science put a man on the edge of space just so he could jump back down to earth. NASA put their most recent rover on Mars and has already made amazing discoveries, the Hubble telescope is finding planets outside our galaxy that have amazing potential of being earth like.
This petetion is not about finding alien life, or promoting science over religion, however, once upon a time children used to go to school to study and dream to be astronauts. Now we have to tell our children they can't be astronauts because their dreams are not worth our governments money.
The Obama administration has made great efforts to promote science and math rich curriculums, but what is the point if we put on a ceiling on those children's dreams? NASA and the space program are that dream.
