Bring Back the U.S. House of Representatives Page Program

The U.S. House Page Program, which educated high school students in the workings of the U.S. Congress for almost 180 years, was ended in August of 2011 due to "prohibitive cost" and "advances in technology". Not only is the program worth nothing next to the federal budget, but this completely ignores the program's original premise. As a Senate Page in 2009, I gained more through this program than anything I ever did in high school. It gave me an eye into the workings of our government, helped me develop job/life skills that were learned in the fast-paced work environment, and made opportunity for life-long bonds with my very diverse fellow pages that I never would have experienced otherwise. There is too much benefit here for young Americans, so please support this program's revival.
