bring back U.S. Postal Service stamp vending machines!

Created by K.D. on April 04, 2013

No person should have to wait in line at the post office, just to buy a stamp. It is understandable that the Post Office phased out stamp vending machines in 2006 (due to high maintenance costs, and other technological issues) - however, in the past 7 years, technology has come a long way.

While the USPS would argue that stamps are readily available online or at convenience stores - stamps (or some alternative self-serve kiosk for mailing flat letters and small packages) should be easily available at the source... in Post Office lobbies. This will reduce customer wait times, and improve the overall customer service experience, for all customers. If operations and maintenance is an issue, USPS should consider privatizing this function.
