NBC has suspended Brian Williams, anchor of the NBC Nightly News, for 6 months due to a miscommunication made in 2003. Once the unjustified attack on him began, he apologized on air for his mistakes that were made in the heat of the moment. Even so, he decided to take personal days off to allow the smoke to clear only to be slapped with a 6 month suspension. To put that into perspective, his career is being destroyed over something that occurred 12 years ago.
He didn't "lie", he was there, it was a mistake made under the pressure of being a successful journalist. After years of a flawless reporting record, everything he built is thrown away in an instant. It's sickening, and anyone who feels the same way should refuse to watch the NBC Nightly news until Brain Williams returns to the air.
