As a political tool the Internet has been key to the rise of diverse political movements from the Tea Party to #OccupyWallStreet, allowing for never dreamed communication to take place digitally. As an engine of innovation, the Internet has brought countless jobs to the US, creating a platform for startups like Google, Facebook, or Twitter to go from garage projects to multi-billion dollar giants.
It is no surprise then that telecommunication companies, which already have monopolies in many American communities, are looking to increase their control of this revolutionary free speech platform. We ask that President Obama take the lead in protecting
