There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that the Vatican is at the least, complicit in the crimes of it's priesthood against children. In several american cities (boston, philadelphia, los angeles to name a few) numerous incidents of child abuse have been proven. In each of these cases, and more worldwide, the Vatican has been shown to protect it's priesthood instead of its followers. By investigating, and not providing information to civil authorities; the Vatican has essentially propagated a worldwide conspiracy that hides repeat child abusers from legal consequences, marginalizes the pain and damage caused to these children, and hides the scope of the issue from the world at large.We should(as it is the right thing to do) approach this as a criminal matter of state.
