It's simple. On March 12, 2013, James Clapper knowingly and by his own admission mislead Congress when questioned regarding federal surveillance programs. Allowing such an act to go unpunished is an insult to the American people, American government, and American justice system. This would be and has been grounds for criminal prosecution for average Americans, so why should this individual be given special treatment? We cannot allow our government officials to be exempt from the law.
