The influence that Goldman Sachs has had in both Democratic and Republican administrations over the past 2 decades is disturbing. They are largely responsible for the systematic deregulation of the financial industry, which resulted in billions in profits for Goldman Sachs & cataclysmic losses for the majority. The apparent reluctance of the administration to bring charges against these individuals for well documented crimes of fraud and perjury fuels the public perception that the government has been corrupted to the point that it is no longer willing nor able to create and enforce laws which protect citizens and the market from thugs in suits. Trial and conviction of those found guilty of blatant fraud & perjury will be an important first step in earning back the trust of the public.
