The citizens of the United States are being gouged by the highest drug prices in the world. The FDA has a backlog of applicants for generic drugs which creates a monopoly for brand name drugs and even some generics have no competition in the USA which keeps prices artificially high.
Create an Executive Order that orders the FDA offer reciprocal approval of drugs that regulators in other advanced countries like Canada and Europe, which have already approved of (safe and effective). The Generic Pharmaceutical Association and its European counterpart has advocated a 'single development pathway'.
This will create real competition and bring down prices, for example, Denmark's Epipen competitor, sells its device for only $50 vs over 600 for the USA.
