It is important to have laws in place that prevent continued killing in the United States. The government should be in no position to determine if a person will live or die in this country, as it grants the government far too much power over the lives of citizens and residents of the United States. While prison sentences and treatment at a mental health facility provide potential solutions to dealing with homicidal criminals, killing does not.
