Bring forth legislation that gives American Citizens wider and faster access to their credit scores, and backgrounds

For the life of me, I cannot understand why something as important as your credit score and report, rental history, and criminal backgrounds are so difficult to obtain. The average person in my area has no clue that the major credit bureaus allow 1 free credit report per year, however the process to obtain these free credit reports are so tideous most people end up not completing it. I am petitioning for our President and elected officials to draft some sort of legislation that not only gives us wider and faster access to an agreed upon maxium number of views of our comprehensive and detailed credit reports and criminal background. This is not just a matter of economics, and money, I strongly feel this is a civil rights issue.
