Historically, the United States has been most prosperous when manufacturing was done domestically. Today most manufacturing has been outsourced to foreign countries. Outsourcing may allow companies to offer cheaper products, but at what cost? If people do not have money to spend on products, what is the use of those products being cheaper? Outsourcing puts more money into the hands of corporate leaders and drastically reduces jobs for Americans. If manufacturing was done domestically Americans would be able to get jobs, allowing for the growth of a healthy economy. Manufacturing should be brought back to America but, should be done in a way that uses environmentally friendly energy sources and technology, so our country does not become a toxic place while improving the lives of Americans.
