We petition that the National Firearms Act of 1934 be brought up to date to accomplish three goals: first, adjust the $200 transfer fee for those firearms falling under the purview of the NFA--a fee that has not been adjusted for inflation since it was imposed in 1934--to an inflation-adjusted $3,436.13 per weapon (source: http://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm ).
Second, require that anyone in possession of a weapon defined under the NFA pay a one-time tax of $3,436.13 per weapon.
Third: require anyone in possession of a weapon capable of storing in excess of six rounds pay $3,436.13, or be required to surrender their weapons for destruction.
