I was shocked when WPAFB Musuem wasn't awarded a shuttle. The Air Force has always contributed a lot to the space program and it seemed to be a given that one of the shuttles would come here.
It really seems that some of the choices of where the shuttles were designated were based on who kissed the most ass which is a terrible way of determining where they should go.
The Air Force museum is a place where an incerdible number of people visit annually and they don't charge you to see what we have already paid for with our taxes. It is one of the best air museums in the world.
Ohio has it's own issues but tourism is a good area to help bring in money. Having a shuttle would be a huge draw to the museum which would be a financial benefit to other businesses in this area.
