We are bankrupting our country by engaging in endless war. We need to dramatically reduce our military spending and refocus the military industrial complex away from tools for domination and destruction. If our resources and industries were freed up to focus on creating solutions to energy problems facing our planet we would be far better off in the the long run.
Using military might beyond defense only invites blowback on US soil and assets. Current policy is simply using the US military power to gain and control necessary resources for our nation. Essentially we subsidize our energy sector with our defense budget. This is the essence of Empire and it is anathema to the principles on which our country was founded. As history shows... all Empires eventually fail
