Across America about 40% of elementary schools have cut recess time in favor of more class time. In America only 36% of kids reach recommended amount of physical activity. When children have recess, they can be more engaged in the classroom and develop social relationships. We believe it is necessary for elementary schools nationwide to have at least 30 minutes of mandatory recess time or free time indoors.
