Let us build 50 new, state-of-the art towns and cities to accommodate 25,000 to 1,000,000 people. The legislative branches of our government have been buying one another's support for their special interests for so very long that they have lost the ability to govern. They are like 19th Century horse-traders whose currency is earmarks. By building 50 new towns and cities, one in each state, they can each have their earmark, as though that was our paramount concern, and we can move this nation forward. We can advance urban design and policy, build infrastructure, create high-quality jobs, respect our environment with logistical, transportation and energy efficiency, improve the skills of our people and the quality of their lives and those of their children and grandchildren.
