The United States of America should build two military spacecraft substantially similar to the Jupiter and Mercury class warships Battlestar Galactica (from BSG-75) and Battlestar Pegasus (from BSG-62), respectively, and thereafter install Edward James Olmos as Admiral of this American Fleet, subject to his acceptance. Far more useful than a Death Star, these battlestars would enable truly effective space travel due to their faster-than-light (FTL) travel capabilities, permitting human space colonization, advancing scientific research and creating jobs. Additionally, in the event of attack by aliens or other enemies, the battlestars could help humanity survive total extinction with their effective weapons systems, ability to house humans for sustained periods of time and FTL capabilities.
