Want to create jobs, have a country caught up with the rest of the world, and invest in a better economy? Build a high speed rail system. This would help upward mobility, if Americans could get from one coast to the other to find jobs they are qualified for. They would not have to spend a fortune just to be able to work to make a living. The travel industry would be helped. Imagine people from Pittsburgh going to Seattle for just a weekend. Imagine people from California going to D.C. just to see historical sites they may never get to see. I am sure that the air travel complex has spent a lot of money to kill this idea. But the government is supposed to listen to the people and not business that have been stagnant and not created new jobs but lost old ones.
